Is Kimchi new to you?

Kimchi is a traditional Korean dish made from salted and fermented vegetables, most commonly Napa cabbage and Korean radish, seasoned with a variety of spices and flavorings such as chili powder, garlic, ginger, and fish sauce. Kimchi can also be made with other vegetables such as cucumbers, scallions, and carrots.

Kimchi is an important part of Korean cuisine and culture, and is often served as a side dish or used as a condiment to accompany a variety of dishes. It is rich in vitamins and probiotics, and its spicy, sour flavor makes it a favorite among many people.

I named Oh Na Mi after my grandmother, Oh Na Mi. An incredible inspiration to me, she lived to be 104 years old and Oh Na Mi is my tribute to her life.

We made our original recipe vegan. The recipe was carefully composed so that you might just not miss the fermented fish. And if you still do, don’t worry, we also make a traditional kimchi with shrimp and fish sauce as well!

When stored properly in the refrigerator, kimchi can last for several months to a year, depending on the level of fermentation and personal preference. As kimchi continues to ferment in the fridge, it will develop a stronger flavor and become more sour over time.

To ensure the best quality and flavor, it is recommended to consume your kimchi within a few months of opening the jar. If you notice any signs of spoilage, such as a foul odor, mold, or sliminess, it is best to discard the kimchi.

Kimchi is traditionally stored in a cool and dark place, ideally at a temperature between 0-4°C (32-39°F). The refrigerator is the best place to store kimchi, as it will help to slow down the fermentation process and keep it fresh for a longer period of time.

It's also worth noting that kimchi will continue to ferment even when it's stored in the fridge. As a result, it may become more sour and develop a stronger flavor over time. If you prefer a milder taste, it's best to consume your kimchi within a few weeks of making it.

Your kimchi may pop out of the jar when you first open it due to the active fermentation process taking place inside. As the gas produced during fermentation builds up, it can cause pressure to build up inside the jar.

If you store your kimchi correctly, preferably in the fridge, it will help to prevent this from happening although it is always a possibility. Open your jar with caution.

Kimchi is a staple Korean dish that is known for its spicy and pungent flavors. While the spiciness of kimchi can vary depending on the type and amount of chili peppers used, it is a defining characteristic of the dish. Some kimchi varieties are made with very spicy chili peppers, while others are made with milder peppers for a less intense heat. Additionally, other ingredients in kimchi, such as garlic, ginger, and fish sauce, can also contribute to the overall flavor profile and spiciness of the dish. Overall, kimchi can be enjoyed in a range of spiciness levels, from mild to very spicy, depending on personal
preference.

We sell our Original Kimchi, Bio Kimchi and Kimchi Sauce. You can buy our products in retail size (one jar or bottle) or in bigger batches. Sometimes we add new Kimchi flavors to our webshop when the

Kimchi is a versatile dish that can be eaten on its own as a snack or side dish, or incorporated into a variety of recipes. Here are some common ways to enjoy kimchi:

  • As a side dish with rice and other Korean dishes, such as bulgogi, bibimbap, or Korean fried chicken.
  • As a topping for noodles or ramen
  • In a sandwich or wrap, along with other ingredients such as avocado, cheese, or meat.
  • As a flavoring ingredient in stews or soups, such as kimchi jjigae or kimchi soup.
  • In fried rice or stir-fries, along with vegetables and protein.
  • As a condiment or topping for burgers, hot dogs, or tacos.

Overall, the possibilities for enjoying kimchi are endless, and it can be a great way to add flavor and nutrition to your meals.

Yes, the bubbling in the jar of kimchi you bought is likely due to ongoing fermentation. This is a normal and expected process in fermented foods, and it indicates that the kimchi is fresh and actively fermenting. As long as the kimchi smells and looks okay, the bubbling is a good sign and you can enjoy it as you normally would.
